As President Obama now begins to implement his various campaign pledges for change, our nation is having to adapt. The Wall Street Journal article above points out that clinging to past solutions in changing times can be dangerous to the health of companies.
Our bodies are no different. Think about it. The things that seemingly worked for you in your twenties more than likely fail with the changes ushered in during your forties. How do we remain positioned to adapt to the new stay healthy challenges that we face both externally and internally? Here are some key concepts from the article that I believe will help you effectively manage your health, businesses and families:
Familiarity: Listen to your body and familiarize yourself with how it works.
Flexibility: Be willing to try doing something a different way
Draw on others (doctors and patients) wisdom and experiences. Social medicine (what I refer to as Medpology-more in later writings) is invaluable to your health.
Keep fresh perspectives... Try it, you might like it...
When you find yourself challenged... "don't run home to mamma" (fall back on the way you always did it). UNSETTLE yourself and ALLOW yourself to think differently.
Autonomy: Realize you ARE the most influential factor in your health and families health...
Change is always a challenge but also a time to advance forward in more effective lifestyles. It takes some time to learn and adjust but that's what EverythingWell is here for. Much of the danger is not in change but the cling....
Its time to CHANGE into your new health-clothes and get F.I.T.
Forgetting what is behind
I press on
Toward the goal
